"Tai chi is about changing our internal
environment so that life becomes a joy to live and not a burden to drag
into old age and death. It is about helping your body to let go of the
past and your mind to slow down and cease churning. Tai chi encourages
your internal focus to shift toward cherishing and remembering all that
is wonderful in your life. It predisposes you to look forward to ways to
make life better, rather than remembering how unsatisfying it has been. |

The Bien Hua Tai Chi Association
endeavours to provide the individual with opportunities to explore for themselves
the Tai Chi principles of harmony, interconnectedness & finding your
natural way. We seek to establish a deeper connection between the mind,
the body & the breath, aiming to combine & unify them in order to
cultivate physical and psychological accord. We also wish to provide the
student with an understanding of the martial principles & techniques
that underpin the Tai Chi forms, should they wish to do so. |

There should be no physical barriers to obtaining the benefits that Tai
Chi can offer. The Bien Hua Tai Chi Association acknowledges that
each individual will have their own strengths & limitations & classes
are specifically directed to promote inclusive learning. We have no
affiliation to any belief system or religion & welcome all members of
the public. |

Tai Chi is not always as easy as it may look & an exploration
into the martial aspects can require significant physical & mental
demands. However, at the Bien Hua Tai Chi Association we
recognize that Tai Chi can be many different things to many different
people & this is a principle we strongly promote. Tai Chi can be a
life-long, potentially unending pursuit, but it offers a rich abundance
of rewards for those who walk along its path!
“The
Perfect Exercise.” (Time Magazine) We teach the art in its entirety, focusing on an equal
balance between the meditative & health improvement aspects of Tai Chi &
Chi Kung (“energy work”), as well as its martial & self defence aspects.
However, we fully encourage & promote the individuals choice to explore
any aspect they are interested in & we adapt our teaching & training
accordingly.

There is much written about the sometimes startling benefits
to be gained from the practice of Tai Chi & Chi Kung. Some benefits are
more tangible than others & some are false. Here at the Bien Hua Tai
Chi Association we can only attest to the fact that continuous regular
practice will strengthen your body, your mind & your spirit & encourage
a naturalness of being. Invariably, our classes will introduce you to
new & interesting people, teach you how to defend yourself & others, &
hopefully prove to be an enjoyable learning experience! |

Although Tai Chi & Chi
Kung can aid the body’s natural healing processes & complement
conventional therapies, it is not a substitute for
professional medical treatment. If you have any concerns about your
state of health or any doubts about whether Tai Chi is an appropriate
exercise for you, please consult your doctor or a qualified health
professional.
